Preoperative Screening

An Aisthesis Patient Coordinator, CRNA or Anesthesiologist may contact you by telephone in the days leading up to your surgery either in response to your request or because of some aspect of your medical history. Additionally, a staff member from the center where you are having your procedure or surgery may call you with some screening questions.

If you receive a call they will usually focus on pertinent areas of your:

  • Medical and surgical history including specific past issues with anesthesia
  • Medications and drug allergies
  • Any history of sleep apnea, heavy snoring or poor sleep.

They should also be able to discuss the options and likely anesthesia plan with you, and answer any questions or concerns you have about your upcoming anesthetic.
